Hi, I am knitting my first sock from a youtube video, And I don’t have the exact pattern for the sock because you have to buy it, But any who.. I am at the part where I have to turn the heel. I have 20 stitches on one of my three needles (using Double pointed needles) and what pattern should I use to make that a cup/ turning the heel!??! Please help!! First sock ! Thanks so much and God Bless!

*** 10 PONITS TO BEST ANSWER ***

Transfer your stitches so that half are on one needle and the other half are on another. Decide which half will be the heel. On that half knit a square by slipping one and then knitting one all the way across the needle on the right side, and slipping one stitch and then purling every stitch across the needle on the wrong side. Continue until the flap is actually square (approximately twice as many rows as there are stitches on the needle. End on a purl row.
Count the stitches on the needle and find the half way point. Knit to the half way point, plus one more stitch, knit 2 stitches together and knit 1 more. Turn your work and slip the first stitch. Purl to the half way point plus one and purl 2 stitches together and purl one more. Turn the work again. Again slip the first stitch and work across until you get to the place where you turned your work before. Knit the two stitches on either side of that gap together and knit one more. Turn the work, and do the same thing only purling across and purling the gap together. Continue to turn the work and close up gaps in this way until you reach the ends of the row on the needle. Then you will be ready to pick up stitches for the gusset and follow the video again.
